Still State — Meditation Literacy Engine & Guide

1 — Describe the Experience

Don't worry about using the "right" meditation vocabulary. Describe what you noticed—wandering thoughts, stillness, breathing, body sensations, emotions, spaciousness, or awareness itself. Still State translates experience into the language of meditation traditions and explains what different schools mean by similar experiences.

2 — Context Matters

If you know the tradition or practice, include it. Zen, Vipassana, Samatha, Dzogchen, Transcendental Meditation, Christian contemplation, and other traditions often use different language for similar states—or the same words for different ones. Naming the practice helps Still State explain the experience in its proper context while highlighting where traditions overlap or diverge.
